The Yellow River—China’s Mother River
We know river is the vein of our earth to flow water enlivens the living being of the earth. We also know if there was no river there would be no green and living being. In the world there are several rivers which have significant role to grow plant, crops and other living being. Among them Yellow river is considered one of the most beautiful and in China as a whole in the world.
This river is the birthplace of Chinese civilization, known as China’s ‘river of mother ’. This is the second longest river in China and fifth in the world; and the largest sediment transportation with the highest sediment concentration in the world. The total area is 5464 km-long, watershed area of 752,442.77 square km, which flows meanderingly through nine provinces in north China. If it is look from a high place or airplane, ‘mother river’ is like a huge Chinese charactor”几”, and which will make you feel why it is unique with its superb natural beauty.
Wandering in the North China Plain, the lower Yellow River is the world-famous suspended river with average height of the cross-strait river bed 4 to 5 meters above the ground, somewhere up to 10 meters.
The Yellow River flows through the Loess Plateau in the fast flow rate under the worse vegetation situation, resulting in large amounts of sediment being taken away. But the downstream flow rate becomes slow; a lot of sediment deposition makes water yellow color of this river. The result of this high sediment deposition has been increasing the height of river bed since it’s born and will be continued infinity.
After Thousands miles of flowing the river get into the sea in Shandong province. Dongying is the center of the Yellow River Delta cities. Yellow River, green grassland both sides of the river, the blue sea together makes the landscape a mind-blowing colorful picture. The famous Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve is a intact, most exclusive and richest wetland ecosystem which is known as paradise for birds.
To be frank, I am really unable to illustrate the natural beauty of this place but I hope readers who have plan to visit china can have a look of this paradise to observe the exquisiteness of Yellow river with their own eyes.
